<h2>How this works</h2> <p>Every day we read the availability calendar of each hut we cover, straight from the booking system that hut actually uses. Comparing today's reading against yesterday's tells us which nights went from full to bookable. That comparison is this page.</p> <p>It runs once a day, so this is a daily digest and not a live wire. A bed that opened this morning may already be gone by the time you read the row. The point is not to catch the bed in the instant it appears - it is to show you which huts on your route are letting go of nights at all, because a hut that released beds three times last week is a very different prospect from one that never has.</p> <h2>Why the number of beds matters less than the pattern</h2> <p>A single bed opening at a popular hut is usually somebody cancelling one place. A block of ten is a group cancellation, or a hut opening a new part of its season. Both are worth knowing about, and they mean different things for your chances.</p> <p>Nights that appear here for the first time are a separate case again: some huts do not put their whole season on sale at once, so a night can arrive on the calendar months after the rest. If you have been checking a hut that shows nothing at all for your dates, that is often why.</p> <h2>Booking</h2> <p>We do not take bookings and we take no commission. Every hut on this page links to its own page here, which links on to the reservation system that hut uses - the Alpine club system, the French and Italian portals, or the hut's own site. The price you pay is the operator's price.</p> <p>If you want to be told when a specific hut or a whole route opens up, rather than reading a list, the app can watch it for you and email you when the nights you need appear.</p>
