Swiss huts book through the shared Alpenverein system with live traffic-light availability; the Italian rifugi on the Monte Rosa side mostly book through their own pages or by phone. Many routes here cross glaciated terrain, so check the approach for each hut before you rely on a walking time. 45 of 107 huts in this region have live-checked availability. ## When do 2027 reservations open - **[hut-reservation.org (SAC huts)](https://www.hut-reservation.org/)** (22 huts here): The portal publishes no opening date, and the SAC states no common rule, so each hut opens the coming season on its own schedule. Watch the hut's own page on the portal. At staffed SAC huts a reservation fee of CHF 10 per guest per night is planned from 1 January 2027 at the earliest, taken at booking, credited against the stay and not refunded on cancellation. Solidarity contributions also start in 2027, CHF 3 a night for adult members and CHF 5 for adult non-members, running to 2029. Checked 27 August 2026. The portal itself publishes no opening date, so treat the timing as unconfirmed. - **[Prenota Rifugi CAI](https://www.prenotarifugi.cai.it/come-funziona/)** (17 huts here): No single date. Each rifugio opens its own availability calendar on the portal; until it does, the page shows the information sheet only and booking is by phone or email. A deposit by card is required to book.
